The properties of silk
Mulberry silk has both a positive effect on your skin and your hair. The smooth silk fabric is less likely to absorb moisture from the skin, keeping it hydrated throughout the night. The same applies to the hair, where the silk helps to maintain its natural moisture balance. By sleeping on silk, you also avoid frizzy hair, which can potentially lead to split ends.
Silk is temperature regulating
Silk also has a temperature-regulating property, which guarantees that you will have a comfortable temperature in the hot summer heat. If you suffer from sleep difficulties due to hot nights or itchy and dry skin, then silk is therefore absolutely ideal for you. In addition, silk is known to be anti-allergenic, so it is an obvious choice if you suffer from allergies or asthma.

How to wash silk?
- Preparation: Start by turning your silk bedding inside out and close the zipper. In addition, a laundry bag is recommended.
- Separation: Keep your silk bedding separate from other textiles, especially those with sharp zippers or hard materials that can scratch the silk.
- Temperature: Use cold water to wash silk bedding. Hot water can damage the fibers and cause shrinkage or loss of color.
- Mild detergent: Use a mild detergent intended for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach or strong chemicals as they can damage the silk.
- Hand wash or gentle wash: You can either wash the silk bedding by hand or use a gentle wash in your washing machine. If you use a washing machine, choose a gentle program with a low spin to avoid stretching or damaging the fabric.
- Rinse: Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. You can repeat the rinse several times to make sure all the soap is gone.
- Drying: Avoid twisting or stretching the silk bedding while drying. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water and then let it air dry on a flat surface or hang it on a hanger. Avoid direct sunlight as it may cause discoloration.
- Ironing: If necessary, you can iron your silk bedding on low heat, preferably inside out to avoid direct contact with the heat.
