What type of Curl Band should I choose?

There are now a number of providers of heat-free curling bands - also called Curl Bands. You may be in doubt about which variant to choose, which is why you should read along here. Basically, Curl Bands are produced (most often) in either satin or silk. With the naked eye, it can be difficult to spot the difference between the two materials, but nevertheless it is worth knowing about it.
Silk or Satin?
Silk is a natural material and is made entirely from the cocoons of silkworms. Silk's moisturizing properties help to nourish the hair so that split ends are avoided and other hair damage is reduced.
Satin, on the other hand, is a man-made product which has a slightly rougher surface than silk. At the same time, satin does not have the same moisturizing properties as silk. Therefore, the chance of drying out the hair is higher with a Satin Curl Band. If you want to spare your hair as much as possible and ensure that your hair maintains the right moisture balance, silk is therefore the most obvious choice.
Avoid the cheap materials - they do more harm than good
Satin is also a cheaper material than silk, and most often Curl Bands in satin are filled with a hard foam rubber-like material. This material is much harder to sleep on than a silk Curl Band which is filled with cotton wool. When a Curl Band is filled with a hard material, it also has a greater tendency to go up in the seams because extra pressure is put on them.
If you want your night's sleep intact and you want to keep your hair hydrated at the same time, then a Curl Band in silk is the best choice.
Two different sizes of Curl Band
